Possible Problems and Pitfalls

Some hints in case your search turns out empty: If you are searching for a particular herb or spice by its local name, please note that transcriptions from many Asian writing systems to Latin letters are arbitrary and not well standardized. Instead of trying dozens of different spellings, you might find it easier to use my multilingual alphabetic index. Or, if you are familiar with the respective writing systems, you may find it convenient to use the native script indices.
